Detail Itinerary
In the morning, pick you up the place you are staying and drive to Kyaikhtiyo. On the way visit the Allied War Cemetery at Htaukkyant near Yangon. Then, continue to Kyaikhtiyo (the Golden Rock) about 160 km from Yangon, stands on a gilded boulder precariously perched on the edge of a hill. Our coach has to stop at Kinpun Base camp. From there you have to take local truck (1 hour drive) which is normally used for hilly track up. On arrival, visit to the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda (Golden Rock) and watch the beauty sunset and dawn at this important pilgrimage site. Overnight at Mountain Top Hotel (Deluxe room) in Kyaikhtiyo.
After breakfast, return by car to Yangon and En route stop at Bago; the ancient Mon Capital, 80 Kilometers northeast of Yangon.
Sightseeing tour highlights include Kyakhat Wine monastery where you will see 1200 over Buddhist monks having their merit lunch with total silence by 10:30 am. Then, a worthy visit to Shwemawdaw Pagoda, a pagoda that has almost the same age as Shwedagon but built in Mon style and then to Kyaikpun Pagoda.
Then to a short visit to Shwethalyaung, the most beautiful Reclining Buddha; and The Hanthawadi Palace: Kanbawza Thadi, the famous palace of King Bayinnaung (1551 – 1581 A.D.) is being extensively excavated and some buildings are being rebuilt. Return to Yangon.
