Bhamaw, 186km south of Myitkyina, is more interesting than the latter. You will see the daily market draws Lisu, Kachin and Shan participants from the surrounding countryside. The overgrown city walls of Sampanago, an old Shan Kingdom, can be seen around 5km east of town.

We arranged with charter boat for Bhamaw to Mandalay. It is double Decker with Air condition. There are 7 Twin rooms and 2 separate bath rooms and 2 separate toilets. You will see so many interested sightseeing along the boat trip.

DAY 01 ARRIVAL

Welcome to the Garden City Yangon.

Arrive by either morning or afternoon flight to Yangon International Airport. Then, transfer to hotel.Here we would like to reserve enough time for you to take a good rest that you may need after a long tedious flight. Therefore, sightseeing in Yangon is transferred to the day before departure that you will enjoy for the whole day. Dinner at outside local restaurant. Overnight at hotel. (D)

DAY 02 YANGON – MYITKYINA BY FLIGHT

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Yangon airport for flight to Myitkyina. After transfer and check in at Pan Sun hotel, proceed on a sightseeing tour before and after lunch; visit Myitkyina market, Su Taung Pyi pagoda and reclining Buddha, Kachin ‘Manao’ garden. Diner at outside local restaurant & overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 03 MYINTKYINA – MYIT SONE ( Confluence ) – MYINTKYINA ( by car )

After breakfast at hotel. Morning visit Myitkyina market and drive to Myit Sone ( 45 kms ), where the two great mountain streams ( Maikha and Malikha ) rushing down from Mt. Hkakabo Razi meet and flow together, thus forming the famous Ayeyarwaddy River. If possible, visit Tan Phe village to see the elephants logging teak wood. River cruising along the Maikha river. Lunch at Myit Sone. On the way to Myitkyina visit Jaw Bon Tower, karein Naw Resort and village of local. Dinner at River View Restaurant. Overnight at Pansum Hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 04 MYITKYINA – BHAMAW BY CAR

After breakfast at hotel, visit to Myitkyina market then drive to Bhamaw (about 8 hrs drive). Overnight at Friendship hotel. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. (B,L,D)

DAY 05 BHAMAW EXCURSIONS

After breakfast visit around in Bhamaw – a colorful trading town of river boats with a unique mixture of tribes and near the 5th century ruins of the trading city of Sampanago. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Friendship Hotel. (B , L, D)



DAY 06 BHAMAW – Khatha BY ( CHARTER BOAT )

After breakfast, visit to Bhamaw market, old church and Spa pagoda. Then transfer to jetty for boat trip to Shwe Gu; second defile of Ayarwaddy it is between Bhamaw and Katha. On the way you will see the jigging workshops, Ayarwaddy Dolphin and traditional and village life of Kachin race at Sin Khan Village and then visit to Kyundaw village. Then proceed to Khatha and night stop at Katha. Lunch, dinner and overnight on boat. (B,L,D)



DAY 07 Katha – Ta Kaung BY BOAT

After breakfast visit by car to elephant camp; you will see daily work of elephant for timber production and logging. Afternoon drive back to boat and lunch on boat. Tour continue to old and ancient pagodas, market and salvaging side for ancient sunken ship in Katha. Then proceed by boat to Ta Kaung – ancient ruined city; you can see dolphin (but sometime can not see) and timber productions. Dinner and overnight on boat. (B,L,D)



DAY 08 TA KAUNG – KYAUK MYAUNG BY BOAT

After breakfast on boat then proceed to Kyauk Myaung. On the way you can see third defile of Ayarwaddy, on the way you will see some villages’ life and Ah Nyar Thihataw Pagoda. Proceed to Kyauk Myaung where you can see the workshop of pottery. Lunch, dinner and overnight on boat. (B,L,D)



DAY 09 KYAUK MYAUNG – MANDALAY BY BOAT

After breakfast on boat proceed to Mandalay. On the way visit to Mingun (if times permit); sightseeing around Mingun includes: Mingun pagoda known as the biggest brick pile, biggest ringing Mingun bell and Myatheintan Pagoda. Then arrived to Mandalay. Lunch on board and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 10 MANDALAY EXCURSION

After breakfast to famous Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the most sacred Buddha Image in Mandalay. Then a short visit to Gold foil making cottage industry. Then visit to Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the World’s Biggest Book for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures. Tour continues to Mandalay Hill, a vantage point for a panoramic view of the city.

It is worthy to have a stroll up the hill enjoying panoramic views from different location. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 11 MANDALAY – AMARAPURA – AVA – SAGAING EXCURSIONS – YANGON BY FLIGHTDAY

After breakfast at hotel, visit to picturesque Sagaing Hills, 21 km south-east of Mandalay and west bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. Sagaing Hills is a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous pagodas and monasteries.

Then visit to Inwa ( Ava ), a historical capital founded by King Thado Minbya in 1364. Extended visit will be made to Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery which is a fine example of Myanmar masonry art and architecture, Mainu Brick Monastery and old watch tower.

Tour continue to an ancient city of Amarapura, 11 km south of Mandalay highlighting Bagaya Monastery with a famous collection of Buddha images; Maha Gandayon Monastery. Then proceed to 1.2 km long U Bein Wooden Bridge, built since 1782 with over 1700 huge teak pillars, is one of the worth visiting sites. The clients can have leisurely walk on the almost 1 mile long bridge. Then, back to Mandalay and transfer to airport for flight to Yangon. On arrival at Yangon transfer to hotel and overnight at Hotel. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel. ( B,L,D )



DAY 12 DEPARTURE WITH EVENING FLIGH

After breakfast visit to the 2,500 years old magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda sheathed in 11 tons of pure gold and 4,350 diamonds weighing 1800 carats!

Then proceed to visit Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandoola Park with Independence Monument, located at the heart of the city, Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha image and Bogyoke market – a shopping market with more than 2000 shops selling all kinds of products but of special mention is the beautiful exotic “Shan Bag” velvet slippers, lacquer ware and all sorts of handicraft. Then transfer to airport on the way visit to Kabaraye Pagoda and Mahapasana cave. Lunch at local restaurant. (B,L)
