Lashio

Located at the southern end of the "Burma Road", Lashio is in a mountain basin. It is divided into two main districts, Lashio Lay (Little Lashio) and Lashio Gyi (Big Lashio), connected by Theinni Road. Lashio Lay is the newer and bigger of the two districts. Lashio is 6-hour drive from Mandalay. It is a major town that locates on the route connecting to China and Myanmar. Lashio Hot Spa is a hot springs about 10 kilometers northeast of Lashio Gyi via Theinni Road.

Itinerary

Day 1 Mandalay - Kyaukme - Lashio

Morning departure by coach through picturesque mountainous terrain to Kyaukme. Tour highlights include visit to Kyaukme jade Market, town area, local tribes and Bawgyo pagoda. Arrive at Lashio in the early evening. Overnight in Lashio.

Day 2 Lashio - Kyaukme - Pyin u lwin

Early morning visit Lashio Market ( where local hill tribes can be seen ), Quan Yin  San Chinese Temple, Pyi Lone Chantha Paya, Chinatown and the beginning of the Burma Road. Tour continues with visit to workshops near Kyaukme making Shan paper. After viewing the Gokteik Viaduct railway bridge, arrive at Pyin U Lwin in the late afternoon for sunset watching at Kyauk Taung Pagoda. Overnight at Pyin U Lwin.

Day 3 Pyin u lwin – Mandalay

After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Pyin U Lwin include visits to Pwe Kauk Waterfall, Peik Chin Myaung Caves, Botanical Gardens and town surroundings. Then return to Mandalay and upon arrival at Mandalay, transfer to Hotel (or) airport. (B)
